Modern Woodmen Make Donation to MCH

Mangum, Oklahoma (July 12, 2007) - Modern Woodmen of America was founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society. It offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States. Ben Whisenant is the District Representative & Camp Secretary for this area.

Modern Woodmen of America members often show their neighborly spirit by building a wheelchair ramp, painting a house or planting a flower bed. They also sponsor a program called the Good Neighbors Program.

Through the Good Neighbors Program, members and volunteers perform hands-on labor to beautify structures or environments for public spaces. The local chapter of Modern Woodmen reimbursed the Mangum Community Hospital $500 toward the materials used in the recent project at the hospital. Flower beds were planted on both sides of the entrance and a flower garden was created outside the glass down the north foyer for everyone to enjoy. The loca14-H students will participate as part of their Record Book project to help plant and maintain the flower beds at the Hospital.
