Quad Slice CT Scanner makes it’s way to Mangum

Mangum, Oklahoma (April 10, 2007) –

Mangum Community Hospital and Blackhawk Healthcare announces the arrival of a brand new Toshiba Asteion Quad Slice CT Scanner.  The new “Quad” CT delivers uncompromising image quality – showing even the smallest vessels and tissue, like those in the heart and lungs, for quick and precise disease detection with less hassle than with conventional methods.

The Toshiba Asteion is very fast and produces excellent images.  Being a "Quad" scanner (4 images in every rotation) most exams only take 10-15 seconds of actual scan time.  Advanced applications of the system include;

• CT angiography for stenosis and aneurysm evaluation (Looking inside your arteries, Aorta, Carotoid, Cerebral, Peripheral, Renal)
• Low-Dose Lung Cancer Screening
• Virtual Imaging Screening
• Appendicitis Evaluation
• Renal Stone Evaluation
• Orthopedic Evaluation - Provides excellent detail in those patients who cannot undergo MRI imaging due either to metal, metal artifact, pacemakers, or inability to tolerate the long MRI imaging times)
• Oral and Maxillofacial Evaluation
